There are many types of music that attract different audiences. Many examples are shown above with top artists of that genre that fit into these categories.
This information above tells us that pop music last year was the most popular in the UK. I will be creating a music video from a pop type artist as it will allow me to cater to the widest audience in the UK.I will also look into other popular genre of my target audience like indie and singer song writers. As pop music actually means popular music as its an easy and catchy genre that most commonly appears in the charts.
An example of a pop music artist is Justin beiber. who is known world wide for his catchy tunes. He has over 65 million followers on twitter alone showing his popularity within this genre. the video to the right is the Justin signing his first hit "baby".
Indie music is becoming more popular and beginning to take over the charts. this is due to people wanting to break the mold and explore more underground and independent artists.this genre has also grown in popularity due to the fashion becoming more indie too but what does this mean? this is that people are freely expressing there individual style and i believe this century is all about people being able to express there person sound and style therefore supporting the idea of indie being the way this teen demographic is moving towards.

Singer song writers are big in the charts as there songs reflect personal experience which allows them to connect to fans on a more personal level.One artist who came from this type of story is ed sheeran he is one of the most talked about artist right now.With over 15million twitter followers he is a very influential figure in the charts at the moment.Here is his music video of lego house.
