I have chosen this artist due to him being fairly un known this meaning there are no preconceived expectations of his style of music video and will allow me to totally create something unique for his sound. The song ive chosen is as we are now from his 2014 album young blood. This song has no music video which will allow me to interpret the lyrics without comparing it to the current one. i feel like im almost giving the song a visual identity.I love this song as its relaxed and an easy listen but also due to the slow rhythm means it conveys a reflective mood. I believe this song will suit a narrative type video due to the artist saying in an interview he believes the song to be nostalgic, there for i can use the idea of evoking feelings and the past in my video. The song is called as we are now therefore I want the tile to reflect the video so maybe using the idea of time like the past and present in the video would be relevant.

I also feel my artist will suit my target audience as he himself is in my age bracket this being ages 15-25 as he is 20 years old. My artist is known as an indie pop and alternative pop writer and these genres are very up and coming to the charts with the likes of the 1975 making saint Raymond suit well to this audience.I also believe my artist to matches conventions of my audience and makes him relatable by the way he looks in jeans, print T-shirts and beanie. The language he uses in my chosen song has no explicit language meaning its expectable for a wide range of people.
Here are the lyrics to the song, the language used is simple and retable and the situations described i believe we can all find a situation we have been in thats similar to this:
We've all been waitin' for this, but it always comes too quick
Spend our days in the playground pretending not to be kids
The girls are in the corner, already had too much to drink
Boys hide behind their laughter, like they don't care what girls think
We'll never be as young as we are now
The faces in the crowd are thinning out
And I'm not saying stick around, but stick around
And we may never have another like today, tomorrow is brand new start away
And we'll never be as young as we are now, as we are now
We've all been getting tired, the streets that we've outgrown
Sit indoors for hours
Now king George has lost his throne
Something out there's calling, whisper we go home
Nights that I stayed with you, cause you didn't want to be alone
We'll never be as young as we are now
The faces in the crowd are thinning out
And I'm not saying stick around, but stick around
And we may never have another like today, tomorrow is brand new start away
And we'll never be as young as we are now, as we are now
We'll never be as young as we are now
The faces in the crowd are thinning out
And I'm not saying stick around, but stick around
And we may never have another like today, tomorrow is brand new start away
And we'll never be as young as we are now, as we are now
