letter of consent for filming

I need to be given permission to film my actors and due to them being children under 18 i will have to seek permission from their parents too. This is format of the letter i will ask them to sign:

I _____________________ give permission  for my child to feature in Anya Gibbins Media studies video that will be used for course work purposes only.

I also need permission to use locations that aren't my own.For example i will be needing to ask the prep school to use their play ground. This is format of the letter i will ask them to sign:

I ___________________ give Anya Gibbins permission to film on my property so it can be featured in her Media studies coursework.

Lastly i have to seek permission from my artist and there label to use their song for my video.

I ___________________ give Anya Gibbins permission to use the song As we are now by Saint Raymond in her media studies coursework but this video won't marketed in any way it is purely featured in coursework only.

Story line for my video

After looking at my favorite videos and thinking into the lyrics of my chosen song.I am wanting to create a video about two best friends aged between 8-10 as they will able to follow direction i give them when filming but young enough that it evokes emotion to what happens in the story. The audience will see them happy playing ect then one of them moves away. This is then followed by a goodbye and exchange of gifts. Years later they are grown up and see each other and pull their gifts they exchanged from their pockets.

The idea is to use two children one girl and one boy to maximise the connection with the audience.

other forms of media of inspiration - john lewis advert

The ad, which cost about £1m to make, features a young boy and what appears to be a real penguin playing together, going sledging, visiting the park and bouncing on the trampoline to the tune of John Lennon’s Real Love sung by British singer-songwriter Tom Odell.
This advert has inspired my video by there being a young child featured in it and also as there is a friendship type relationship shown which i want in my video.I have observed the following to develop further and get ideas from in my video.
Generic childhood games played with friends.Like hide and seek and building with lego.Bouncing on a trampoline and colouring in and drawing. Also the costume of colourful t-shirts and jumpers.

Possible song choice - As we are now - Saint Raymond

For Callum Burrows, aka. Saint Raymond, the past 12 months have been a real learning curve preparing this young artist for future success. The past year has seen him gracing many festival stages across the UK and Europe, supporting Ed Sheeran on his huge arena tour and if that wasn’t enough he’s also managed to squeeze in a couple of his own headline tours along the way.His music is all about the feel good factor whether it’s the uplifting, youthful energy of ‘Fall At Your Feet’ or the nostalgic ‘As We Are Now’. A Saint Raymond song is about letting go, freeing yourself and having a good time but with that added meaning and message behind all the tracks.

I have chosen this artist due to him being fairly un known this meaning there are no preconceived expectations of his style of music video and will allow me to totally create something unique for his sound. The song ive chosen is as we are now from his 2014 album young blood. This song has no music video which will allow me to interpret the lyrics without comparing it to the current one. i feel like im almost giving the song a visual identity.I love this song as its relaxed and an easy listen but also due to the slow rhythm means it conveys a reflective mood. I believe this song will suit a narrative type video due to the artist saying in an interview he believes the song to be nostalgic, there for i can use the idea of evoking feelings and the past in my video. The song is called as we are now therefore I want the tile to reflect the video so maybe using the idea of time like the past and present in the video would be relevant.

I also feel my artist will suit my target audience as he himself is in my age bracket this being ages 15-25 as he is 20 years old. My artist is known as an indie pop and alternative pop writer and these genres are very up and coming to the charts with the likes of the 1975 making saint Raymond suit well to this audience.I also believe my artist to matches conventions of my audience and makes him relatable by the way he looks in jeans, print T-shirts and beanie. The language he uses in my chosen song has no explicit language meaning its expectable for a wide range of people.

Here are the lyrics to the song, the language used is simple and retable and the situations described i believe we can all find a situation we have been in thats similar to this:

We've all been waitin' for this, but it always comes too quick

Spend our days in the playground pretending not to be kids

The girls are in the corner, already had too much to drink

Boys hide behind their laughter, like they don't care what girls think

We'll never be as young as we are now
The faces in the crowd are thinning out
And I'm not saying stick around, but stick around
And we may never have another like today, tomorrow is brand new start away
And we'll never be as young as we are now, as we are now

We've all been getting tired, the streets that we've outgrown
Sit indoors for hours
Now king George has lost his throne
Something out there's calling, whisper we go home
Nights that I stayed with you, cause you didn't want to be alone

We'll never be as young as we are now
The faces in the crowd are thinning out
And I'm not saying stick around, but stick around
And we may never have another like today, tomorrow is brand new start away
And we'll never be as young as we are now, as we are now

We'll never be as young as we are now
The faces in the crowd are thinning out
And I'm not saying stick around, but stick around
And we may never have another like today, tomorrow is brand new start away
And we'll never be as young as we are now, as we are now

music video of inspiration and anaylsis - you belong with me

The reason why i feel this video has inspirational qualities that i want to include in my music video is how the video is realistic. This being the scenario of boy meets girl and one of the falls in love with the other. This to me makes it relate able for the audience and makes them want to watch it.

There are some things in the video that i want to use in my video. These include:

I like the idea of having them write there feelings on paper and i want to carry this idea into my video as its showing a mess age without speech which is useful in a music video.

Another video of inspiration is taylor swifts 2009 hit you belong with me. In the video, Swift portrays both the protagonist and antagonist, which she respectively described as "the nerd, who is pining away for this guy that she can't have" and "the popular girl." Swift described the popular girl's persona as "horrible and scary and intimidating and perfect". Her love interest is portrayed by American actor Lucas Till: she was intrigued by his "cool look", embodying a "dreamy guy".  Swift commented, "One of my favorite things about this video is that there wasn't a standard performance scene. This video was pretty much all story line and I'm narrating it in the moment, basically narrating while all this is happening around me."

Generic nerdy girl bedroom:
periodic table shirt, glasses, tied back hair, big book shelf full of books, biology dna model

Conventional sporty teen bedroom with basketball and trophies.
